Dr. Reza Moussavian, Vice President Group Transformational Change, Deutsche Telekom Group, Germany

Born in Iran and raised in Germany, Reza studied business administration at the University of Cologne, Germany. His postgraduation at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and doctoral studies at the Da Vinci Institute in Johannesburg/South Africa address integral business strategies and respective business modelling in the information and communications sector. Reza has been working as a management consultant for telecoms operators and technology firms with the focus on transformation, innovation, sustainability and growth, covering the transitioning economies and transforming societies of Poland, Russia, Romania, Austria as well as Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Saudi-Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Nigeria, Peru, Sudan, Tanzania, Equatorial-Guinea and some more. Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom Group beginning this year, Reza has been working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM and Deutsche Telekom’s management consultancy Detecon.

While being engaged in conventional business launch, incumbent privatization or business transformation programmes, Reza joined Prof. Lessem’s and Dr. Schieffer’s transformation programme and was one of the first pioneers applying integral research in the business context.

Reza co-developed the integral telecoms model based on integral research and the integral enterprise and became a well-known expert for “unconventional” sustainability strategies in the telecoms industry. His thesis is devoted to the development of the model and has been implemented by numerous telecom operators such as Deutsche Telekom in Germany, Etisalat in Nigeria and then leveraged to 26 other countries as well as some governmental and non-governmental institutions in Africa and the Middle East.

Asked by the management board of Deutsche Telekom, Reza has taken over the lead of a new unit, Group Transformational Change, to say a “transformation incubator” envisioned to transform Deutsche Telekom’s organization culture towards an integral enterprise, striving for innovation and being equipped with integral transformation competences. Reza’s professional work is centered around blending integral innovation and transformation with co-creative, agile methods and strategic business planning.
